Special Note: When you install a new SATA hard drive into HP DV2000 series laptop computer, you need to add a hard drive connector adapter to on the new hard drive. You can remove the connector adapter from original hard drive and re-use it on the new hard drive, or just order a new
Connector Adapter from us.
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the
computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on,
and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power cord.
4. Loosen the two Phillips PM2.0×5.0 screws (1) that secure
the hard drive cover to the computer.
5. Lift the left side of the cover(2) and swing it to the right.
6. Remove the hard drive cover.
7. Remove the two black Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screws (1) that
secure the hard drive to the computer.
8. Use the mylar tab (2) to lift the hard drive 3 until it disconnects
from the computer.
9. Remove the hard drive from the hard drive bay.
10. Remove the four Phillips PM3.0×3.0 screws (1) that secure
the hard drive frame to the hard drive.
11. Lift the frame (2) straight up to remove if from the hard drive.
Reverse the above
procedure to install and reassemble the hard drive.
