EZ Gig II Data Transfer Utility is a powerful, yet easy to use, tool that creates an exact clone, or a compressed image of a hard drive. This second generation product is loaded with powerful features such as Hi-Speed USB 2.0 support, adjustable compression settings, comment fields, and password protection.
In addition to supporting data transfers via Hi-Speed USB 2.0, EZ Gig II also supports USB 1.1, PC Card, and internal IDE interfaces.
EZ Gig II Data Transfer Utility is comprised of two uniquely different modules:
Clone EZ and Image EZ.Clone EZ is the ideal utility for cloning a hard drive. A cloned hard drive is useful when upgrading a hard drive, or to create an exact bootable “Disaster Recovery” clone for the ultimate in backup and recovery.
Backup: In the event of an internal hard drive failure, Clone EZ can upload the most recent clone to another hard drive. In an emergency situation, the backup hard drive can be installed into the system replacing the failed hard drive.
Upgrade: Clone EZ automatically copies everything – programs, documents, address books, email, OS and preferences - from the old hard drive to a new hard drive in minutes. This state of the art Data Transfer Utility saves hours of system rebuilding and makes upgrading a hard drive simple and pain free.
Image EZ is the perfect utility to backup an entire hard drive, or a separate partition. Through its advanced compression algorithm, Image EZ can compress data to less than half of its original size. This feature allows for backups to smaller hard drives, or multiple backups to a single drive.
Image EZ provides a comments field for each image allowing users to maintain a detailed description for each backup. To keep backups secure, Image EZ allows a password to be assigned to each individual backup image. Image EZ also includes a File Editor that allows the editing or restoration of individual files or folders within an image.
Image EZ also supports transfers to optical media such as CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-R/W. (Note: writing to recordable DVD’s requires additional packet writing software)
EZ Gig II ships on a CD and can be loaded and run under Windows operating systems. EZ Gig II can also be used as a boot disk and boots directly to Clone EZ to create a clone or restore a cloned image.
